Simón Aranguren
Simón’s practice focuses on supporting the litigation team. He reviews court proceedings and case files, monitors procedural developments and deadlines, organises and analyses evidence, researches applicable legislation and case law, and drafts court submissions, pleadings and appeals for review by the lawyers.
In contractual and commercial disputes, he supports case strategy by analysing facts and documents, identifying breaches and risks, and evaluating litigation and negotiation options.
In contractual matters, he drafts and reviews private and commercial agreements for businesses. He prepares and refines clauses and checks that obligations, guarantees, payment terms, grounds for termination and dispute resolution mechanisms are clearly defined. His work aims to identify gaps and risks before signing and anticipate difficulties that may arise during performance of the contract.
He also works on criminal law and economic crime matters, with an interest in the relationship between business activity and criminal liability.
He is a member of the Corporate Law and Corporate Transactions and Economic Criminal Law research groups at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. Through these groups, he deepens his study of corporate structures, operations and transactions, as well as the intersection of economic activity and criminal law.
